i never use this blog. it's been 5 years since my last entry here.

i've gone from having 1 share in 2020 (now, post split, 15 shares)

10 in 2021

100 in 2022

currently 430 shares in 2025. bought at 200, currently 330.

anyway, i wanted to jot down a few notes on where tesla might be headed.

y = x squared.

the premise of tesla was an electric sportscar, with musk's relentless innovation. i had had an x.com account back around 2000. my initial interest was in getting a referral code, but eventually i decided buying stock was the way forward.

the next premise was 50% growth year after year. like moore's law, it worked for a while, but the past two years have stalled, while they worked the bugs out of self-driving.

the new premise is AI: robotaxis, robots, grok.

the risk that i see is that grok7 will pull a scam that removes all the equity in the shares and wipes us out. might be 5 years away or 5 months.

(pharmacist just stopped by)

grok: i'll have to learn to use it.

cant find my post from yesterday with the 23 reasons, i'll have to re-enter. anyway, tesla notes:

failures: cybertruck isn't selling fast.  but they are distinctive, and add to the brand. secret plan part deux specified new models for new niches, and cybertruck does that.

more of a problem, semi has not scaled up yet, still vaporware.

but it will happen. i'm 64. once upon a time i quit the teamster's union to go to law school, but the big rigs still interest me. no price announced yet so we'll see.

batteries:  tesla claimed on battery day that it would maintain its monosopy on batteries, buying all they can get their hands on, while also manufatcuring the 4086 and trying to become the world's largest battery maker. 4086 production has been slow, but at least is enough for cybertrucks.

on the rocky Atlantic coast, a roadside noise camera was listening.

The device measured the Ford’s throaty engine and exhaust at 85 decibels, two over Newport’s limit, city records show. A camera snapped its license plate.

In johnson county kansas, panasonic has opened its new battery plant making the standard tesla round battery.

panasonic has been tesla's japanese silent partner

, making the batteries that go in the cars and boxes.

tesla dominates charging, but has not  yet deployed the solar resources to power its charging network.

insurance expands but not yet to ind.

ecological paradise sort of at austin.

mexico null for now.

lithium refinery, over the air updates, swarm behavior potential, dojo is dead, ai clusters, engineering talent, alien dreadnaught.
